graced the walls, eh? cool!
i merely hunted down...
or rather acquired when they
fell in my hands at random
in my used-bookstore haunting days...
copies of the same three-volume
massmarket edition of the
_autobiography_ that my parents
had in my childhood home. so they
grace my shelf. i called him
"adorable genius" (somebody--
barzun?--says this about
wm. james somewhere) in a
note (about his grandfather)
in a marginal note recently.
i always think of the r. crumb page
("meatball") with a russell caricature...
In the end, aren't shelves the new walls?
