This week at the Forlorn Funnies Shirt Shop: another day late, another archaically dressed celestial entity parading atop a single-button telephone.

That's right, it's everyone's favorite could-be-a-mascot-for-an-old-flour-company-or-a-strange-lilac-perfume: Monsieur in The Moon.

This Week's Shirt (9.2.10)

This week at the Forlorn Funnies Shirt Shop: a day late yet again, but just in time for the earliest inkling of autumn, we're presented with that comforting hulk of a poet, Biggeespeare.

Shouldn't his mustache and chin hair be separated? What's with the white gloves? Would there really be a seam like that in his shirt front, given the time period in question? Biggeespeare only replies, in iambic pentameter: MMMRRAAAAAAAAWWRRR!

This Week's Shirt (8.26.10)

This week at the Forlorn Funnies Shirt Shop: a day late again, but I was tied up trying to figure these two out, despite their previous appearance on this blog. Now I understand them. I'm not allowed to tell, but I understand them. All I can say is: watch the eyelashes.

NASA's Webcam is Better Than Yours

I highly recommend watching this video (starting at 1:50) of one of the solid fuel boosters on the STS-124 Space Shuttle Discovery falling back to earth. The fact that some people want to go almost this high without a plane around them is almost as mindblowing as the video.

This week at the Forlorn Funnies Shirt Shop: once again I'm a day late in posting this, but who's counting? You? Or that guy? Who does that guy think he is anyway? Does he think he's better than me? Maybe he is better than me... Where did he get that belt? That's a nice belt.

One Night Is Never Enough Museum

Were my schedule the exact opposite of what it is this fall, I would love to apply for a month-long trip into the bowels of The Museum of Science and Industry here in Chicago. My friend James Kennedy has thrown himself into contention and I hope, for the sake of art, science, and well-worded madness, that he gets it.

This week at the Forlorn Funnies Shirt Shop: with the recent revelation that triceratops may not have existed, it's high time for a wrestling match between him and some mustachioed muscle from a bygone era, all the while celebrating chest and neck fashion. Finally, everything makes sense.

Pair this with the Yachts! shirt and have your mother thoroughly confused.

With Apologies and Ferns

Due to my own wedding planning madness and my best friend getting hitched, there was no new shirt design last week. So as compensation and apology, I offer this, a warm conversation between two friends, between two ferns.

Also: this week's design will involve ascots. I shall say no more.

Woot Shirt, Sale Ending

The E-MAUL shirt on woot is on the chopping block, so in all likelihood you only have one day left to pick it up. As a vote of confidence: I received my complimentary shirts from woot and I think it printed exceptionally well. And the inimitable Mr. PK Hooker above seems satisfied (or enraged?) with his.

In other shirt news: The sale going on at the Forlorn Funnies Shirt Shop will extend through this coming Thursday, but after that, the prices go up to their previous levels. Shirt it up.

This week at the Forlorn Funnies Shirt Shop: though I'm posting it a day late, this shirt is still in time to pay homage to all the bargain bin wonders being discovered right now at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. The Reindeer, The Human Carp, Tri-Eye, Man-Yak and plenty of other horribly conceived creations comprise the world's greatest group of heroes: the League of The Canceled.
